While there are new movies that are fun and enjoyable, they just don‘t have the same impact as the Action and Horror Movies we remember as kids/teenagers. So we figured we were not alone in our nostalgia and created a podcast to entertain people who feel the same as us. We will talk about what made certain movies so memorable. We will talk about a movie so cheesy but still makes us smile. We will share a memory of watching a movie for the first time.

Billy finds himself in the dangerous underground cage fighting scene once again after he thought his best friend Scott had died. The filmmakers tried to recapture the heart of the original but ended up in cardiac arrest. Writing, acting, and fight choreography all get knocked out in this one. If you tuned in last week for the conclusion of an historic Month of Action, you heard Charlie go "Missing in Action" at the end of the show. Anna and Pete pooled their resources together and executed a worldwide man hunt for their fearless leader. Our first stop was the Land of the Rising Sun, JAPAN! Ultimately, we came up empty handed, however there were signs of Charlie having been in the quiet town of Kurôzu-Cho. We found his Month of Action bandana in a washing machine, but it had been twisted into a horrific spiral shape, or an uzumaki as the locals explained. The word uzumaki reminded Pete of a movie so before we continued our search, we took a break and invited Daniel from the Geeks with Beards podcast over to cover a supremely weird J-Horror film based off a Junji Ito manga called Uzumaki. You better tune in to this episode because you won't believe your ears.

But alas, there’s always one to slip through the cracks, and no it’s not Howard the Duck. Month of Action has come to an end for 2025 and yet there was one figure missing from this entire month. Arnold. And only Arnold could slip through the cracks of his own fame. 1985 he had Commando and 1987 he had Predator. Two of the greatest action movies ever made. But what happened in 1986? Well, they gave Arnold a Raw Deal and now they’re about to pay…with their lives! Raw Deal gets its redemption starting now!

As The Month of Action comes to a close, we gear up for the most Charlie action movie we may have ever covered. Rambo 3 is a knock-down drag-out gun-blazing BOOM-gasm. If heavily armed helicopters, evil Russians, an absurd body count and a daring rescues are your kind of action movie then you need this movie in your life. Both Anna and Pete watch it for the first time while Charlie can't count how many times he's seen it. Since I've been podcasting, few things have brought me more joy than one of my co-hosts watching a film for the first time that I have loved for years. It's happened a few times on this show and always brings a smile to my face. Case in point this week for not only Lethal Weapon 4 but the entirety of the Lethal Weapon franchise. Our favorite Scream Queen, Anna, simply missed all of Lethal Weapon. Hey, it happens. No shade thrown...(Looking at you Dad). The best thing is that Anna went out and got the whole collection and watched them with her Pops. What I wouldn't give to watch these movies for the first time again and to top it off, getting to watch it with my Dad. Heaven. This truly fit the Month of Action!!!

By this axe WE RULE, and if you don't like that, you can come and take it! The Month of Action goes barbarian with 1997’s Kull the Conqueror! However you may feel about Kevin Sorbo, this movie is METAL AF, from the music to the creature effects. This is a great “Conan adjacent” story that has some awesome lore and badass fights! We couldn't go without mentioning the stacked cast featuring Thomas Ian Griffith, Harvey Fierstein, Litefoot, and the literally smoking hot Red Witch Tia Carrera as well as the ice cold stunner Karina Lombard!

Practical effects, hand made miniatures, real explosions, realistic future dystopia, iconic characters, ULTRALITES! What's not to like about Escape from New York? Well, we find a number of holes in the the plot and a few questionable film making decisions that in NO WAY diminish our enjoyment of this movie. Yes this movie has faults but it's a genuine classic that keeps the Month of Action trucking along like a well oiled wrestler. Charlie has curated an amazing collection of action films this Month of Action and we are all in his debt. Did you know that Adrienne Barbeau is a smoke show? Tune in to find out.

The Month of Action fights back as Chuck Norris returns to B-ACTION in The Hitman! (No, not THAT Hitman. The 1991 one!) Italians, French Canadians, and Iranians battle for territory in the dark underground of Seattle. Grogan tries to trap them all as an undercover cop. But an old nemesis is out to take advantage of the chaos! Brutal violence, badass dialogue, and a dark noir theme get balanced by a wholesome story. Dustin’s excited for an upgrade over last week and Mickey speculates this as a prequel to Walker: Texas Ranger…Charlie is just happy to share an underrated gem!

The Month of Action is coming in strong with another banger as we welcome in Nate to help cover Mad Max: Fury Road. Wait...who? Nate? He's still alive? Indeed he is and comes in strong with everything we've been missing since Pete broke him in February. The consensus for the film is don't think too much and watch it on the biggest screen with the baddest sound system you can find. This movie will blow you away.
